Women's Development Cell

Welcome to the Women’s Development Cell (WDC) of Shah K.M. College of Commerce, a vibrant and inclusive community dedicated to empowering women and fostering gender equality within the institution.

At Shah K.M. College of Commerce, we firmly believe that women’s progress is integral to the development of society as a whole. The WDC is committed to creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment where women can thrive academically, professionally and personally.

The Cell works to champion the rights, aspirations and potential of every woman in the college, striving to ensure that gender equity is not just a goal but a lived reality on campus. Through various programmes, awareness drives, talks, workshops and counseling, the WDC aims to build confidence, leadership and holistic development among girl students.

Key Focus Areas of WDC

  1. To create awareness about gender equality, women’s rights and legal provisions for women.
  2. To provide a safe platform where girl students can express their concerns and seek guidance.
  3. To organize seminars, workshops and interactive sessions on health, safety, career and self-development.
  4. To promote confidence, self-esteem, leadership and decision-making skills among women students.
  5. To sensitize students and staff towards prevention of gender-based discrimination and harassment.
  6. To encourage participation of women in academic, cultural and co-curricular activities.
