Career Guidance Cell

The Career Guidance Cell at Shah K.M. College of Commerce was established in 2002 with the objective of supporting students in identifying their strengths, shaping their career goals, and preparing them to successfully face career opportunities.

As most students come from rural backgrounds and are first-generation learners, the Cell takes continuous efforts to train students in communication skills, spoken English, group discussions, and interview skills. Group discussions are also organized through departmental initiatives recommended by the IQAC. The Cell strives to make students aware of the current job prospects available.

Objectives

  1. To equip students with essential life and employability skills to face modern competition.
  2. To provide guidance for career planning, resume preparation, interview skills and body language.
  3. To train students for group discussions, competitive examinations and job skill development.
  4. To support students in developing structured career plans.
  5. To provide internet access and career-oriented resources such as books and study material.
  6. To help students select suitable degree or training programs based on academic and financial needs.
  7. To counsel and motivate students, especially those from socio-economically backward backgrounds, about their employment prospects.

Mission & Vision

  1. To assist students in finding the most suitable course and college through proper career guidance.
  2. To focus on complete grooming and personality development.
  3. To empower students to meet the demands of evolving technology and industrial growth.
  4. To enhance employability and develop confidence across varied job profiles.
  5. To encourage students to build strong personal and professional identities.

Academic Counseling

Teachers remain in contact with students outside classroom learning to address academic difficulties. When required, extra lectures are arranged to discuss topics in depth for enhanced understanding.
